Candles Chapter 7

Kurt stood in complete shock, his hand over his mouth, and tears streaming down his face. “B-Blaine… I… I…” He fell to his knees and hugged Blaine, crying and trying to make his voice work.

Blaine held him close and caressed his hair. “Should I take this as a yes?”

Kurt laughed “Yes! Oh Blaine, absolutely yes!”

Blaine held his face and kissed him lovingly, still caressing his hair, he whispered. “I love you so much Kurt.”

Kurt kissed Blaine tenderly. Then, snuggling close and putting the beautiful ring on his finger he sighed. “There are so many people we need to call. My parents, your parents, Finn and Rachael…”

Blaine smiled and kissed him gently on the forehead. “Yes. But they can wait until morning. Tonight I’m not sharing you with anyone. Tonight is our night.” He said then kissed him for a long time.

Kurt closed his eyes and played with Blaine’s curly black hair. “Blaine… I can’t think of anyone who I would rather spend the rest of my life with. I love you so much.”

Blaine stood up and held out his hand to Kurt “Would my wonderful fiancée come with me to the bedroom?”

Kurt smiled, taking Blaine’s hand “Our bedroom. Now that we’re engaged, I want to move in with you.”

Blaine kissed Kurt’s hand. “Yes. Our bedroom.”

Kurt walked with Blaine to their bedroom and lay down on the bed. “Come lay down with me Blaine. My love.”

Blaine lay down with him and kissed him for a long time, slowly caressing Kurt’s chest, arms, and sides. He then began kissing Kurt’s neck.

Kurt moaned lightly and played with Blaine’s hair again. “Mmmh Blaine. I love you so much.”

Blaine held Kurt close and kissed him again. “I will always love you Kurt.”

Kurt kissed Blaine lovingly, and then took off his shirt and whispered in Blaine’s ear, “I want you so badly right now.”

“Mmmh Kurt I’ve been waiting all night to hear you say that.”

Kurt smiled and took off Blaine’s shirt. “Well I’ve been waiting all night to tell you.”

Candles Chapter 6

Blaine held Kurt close and danced slow, nuzzling his neck.

Kurt cuddled closer, dancing. “I love you Blaine.”

Blaine kissed him tenderly then looked him in the eyes. “I love you too Kurt. I love you with everything I am, and with everything I plan to be. You mean the world to me. You make me feel like I’ve never felt before. You are my first and only love, and I will always cherish you. Before I met you I was a wreck. I was never actually happy and I had the confidence of a blind puppy… Then I met you and I stopped pretending to be happy and have confidence and I actually felt joy and soared to new heights. You changed my life forever and I want you to be in my life forever.” He got down on one knee and pulled the little black velvet box from his jacket pocket. “Kurt Nathaniel Hummel… Will you marry me?”

Candles Chapter 5

They walked out of the theatre arm in arm, Kurt leaning his head slightly on Blaine’s shoulder. “You are the best. You know that?”

Blaine smiled and kissed his forehead tenderly. “No but now I do.”

“Oh Blaine tonight has been absolutely amazing!” Kurt said snuggling close to Blaine as they waited for the valet to bring their car.

“Yes it has, and there’s still more to this date. When the car gets here we are going to dinner.”

Kurt looked at him smiling “Really? Where at?”

Blaine smiled and whispered in his ear “My apartment.”

Kurt smiled and blushed slightly as the car pulled up “Sounds amazing”

Blaine opened Kurt’s door for him and helped him into the car, then went around and got in the driver’s seat. “Ready to go love?”

Kurt smiled putting on his seat belt. “Yeah I’m ready.”

Blaine drove to his apartment and they talked about the show, then he took Kurt inside. “So I just have to heat up dinner okay?”

Kurt smiled and kissed him. “Yeah that’s fine.”

Blaine took his hand and walked with him into the kitchen. “We’re having steak and asparagus with mashed potatoes.”

Kurt smiled “Mmmh sounds delicious my love.”

Blaine finished cooking the food and took Kurt to the dining room. “Sit down honey. I’ll bring in the food in a minute.”

Kurt sat and took of his jacket smiling. “Okay darling.”

Blaine lit the candles and went into the kitchen for the food. He took the ring box from his pocket, smiled, and whispered “Soon!” then he brought the dinner in and sat next to Kurt. “Bon appetite”

Kurt smiled and started eating. “Mmmh Blaine this steak is amazing!”

Blaine smiled and touched his hand. “I learned to cook from the best.”

Kurt kissed him softly. “Thanks hun.”

They finished eating and Blaine stood, walked over to the stereo, put some slow music on and held out his hand. “Come dance with me Kurt”

Kurt walked to him and cuddled close. “I’ll dance with you until the day I die.”

Candles Chapter 4

The door opened and Kurt was standing in the doorway in his tux. “Hey love. You look amazing.” Blaine said as he kissed him. “Ready to go?”

Kurt smiled “Yep are we taking your car?

“Yep. Let’s go.” Blaine said holding out his hand.

Kurt smiled and intertwined their fingers together. “So where are we going?”

Blaine smiled “You’ll see when we get there!”

“Not even a hint? That’s cruelty Blaine.”

Blaine chuckled “Don’t worry baby. We’re pretty close.”

They got in the car and drove into New York City. Kurt smiled “A restaurant?”

Blaine mimes zipping his lips up, locking them, and throwing out the key.

Kurt laughed “That’s so not fair.”

Blaine smiled “Then why are you laughing?”

“Because you are so adorable and I love you”

Blaine smiled lovingly as he turns onto Broadway. “I love you too.”

Kurt looked at him quizzically “Are we going and seeing a musical or are you just teasing me?”

Blaine smiled as he turned into the valet for Wicked “We’re seeing Wicked.”

Kurt put his hands over his mouth to try and stop himself from screaming “REALLY!?!”

Blaine got out of the car then went and opened Kurt’s door for him “Really.”

Kurt hugged Blaine “OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!”

Blaine smiled and held Kurt close “You’re welcome my love. Let’s go inside. The show starts in 20 minutes and I want to get to our seats.” He took Kurt’s hand in his and led him inside.

Kurt was looking around in awe. “It’s even more beautiful then I remember!” he said in a hushed whisper.

An usher showed them to their seats and the show started. Kurt leaned on Blaine’s shoulder and Blaine put his arm around Kurt.

Candles Chapter 3

“Hey Blaine. What’s up?” Kurt said as he answered the call from Blaine.

“I know its short notice but I want to take you on a date tonight. A formal date. Is your tux clean?”

“Yeah it’s clean. What’s the occasion?”

Blaine played with the small ring box in his hand “Oh so there has to be some kind of special occasion for us to go on a nice date now does there? I guess we’ll have to wait then…”

Kurt gasped “NO! That’s not what I meant at all honey! I just was wondering if there is one!”

Blaine smiled still playing with the box “Nope, nothing special. I’ll pick you up tonight at 5. And wear your tux.”

“Okay I will see you then.” He said as he hung up. “So it was just a date after all… huh…” He ran to his closet and hurriedly got dressed, and then he dialed Rachael’s number.

“Hey Kurt. Did he call yet?”

“Yeah. Turns out the thing he’s been planning, just a date! I mean it’s somewhere fancy because he’s asking me to wear my tux. But that’s it. Just a nice date.” He said smiling and speaking somewhat fast.

“See. I told you not to worry! What times your date and where are you going?” She said, wondering if Blaine told him anything.

Kurt smiled and put her on speaker phone so he could do his hair. “5 o’clock and I have no idea where he’s taking me. I know you know and I know you aren’t going to tell me so I’m not even going to ask.”

Rachael laughed. “You’re right. I know exactly where you are going and I’m not telling!”

“I know that Rachael. That’s why I told you I wasn’t going to ask.” He said shaking his head.

Rachael rolled her eyes “Have fun on your date Mr. Snarky.”

“I will Ms. Sarcasm.”

She laughed “bye Kurt”

“Bye Rachael.” He said, hanging up then admiring his look in the mirror. “Perfect!”

Candles Chapter 2

Kurt walked into the small Mexican restaurant and sat at Rachael and his usual spot. Soon after Rachael walked in and sat down. “You look worried. Didn’t I tell you not to worry? Why ask for my advice if you aren’t going to use it?”

Kurt sighed “I guess I just can’t help it… I need to know what he’s planning…”

Rachael looked at him kindly. “Call him then. Tell him what you’re worried about and get it from the horse’s mouth that he won’t break up with you.”

“I don’t know Rachael… I mean… wouldn’t that just make me seem like I don’t trust him?”

“Well in all honesty Kurt… Worrying that he is going to break up with you isn’t very trusting.” She said very matter-of-factly.

“I do trust him… I just… Oh I don’t know… I’m just afraid of being hurt I guess… Every time I love someone I end up hurt, or I end up losing them… I just don’t want to get hurt… And I definitely don’t want to lose Blaine…”

Rachael looked at him sadly and spoke soft and loving “You’re not going to lose him Kurt. But if you want, I’ll call him for you and ask him what he’s planning.”

“Yeah…… But I just…… I want him to know that I trust him…” Flustered, Kurt took a sip of his drink.

Rachael dialed Blaine’s number and pushed send. “I’ll make it seem like it just came up in normal conversation. I’m curious and he knows that. Asking is perfectly normal for me.”

“Hey Rachael what’s up?” Blaine asked.

“Okay so Kurt and I just finished lunch and we were talking about things that happened this past week and he mentioned you have a surprise for him and won’t tell. You know how I get when there are secrets floating about.” She said, carefully planning each word.

Blaine waited a second. “Promise you won’t tell him? I really want it to be a perfect surprise. He can’t suspect a thing.”

“Cross my heart I won’t tell.”

“I’m going to take him to go see Wicked, and then we’re going to have a candle light dinner at my apartment. During that dinner, I’m going to propose.”

Rachael got up and walked toward the bathroom so she didn’t accidentally let Kurt in on anything. “Really?!” She said in a hushed tone “You’re going to propose to him?!”

“Yeah. I’m super scared though… I really need it to be perfect…” He said, sighing. “I just don’t know if I’ll know when it’s the right time…”

Rachael chuckled “Trust me Blaine. You’ll know when the time is right.”

“Thanks Rachael. And swear not to tell him?”

“Yeah I swear. When is this proposal date anyway?”

“Tonight.” He said, completely head over heels in love.

“Oh god now I am super excited! Call me tomorrow to tell me his answer.

Blaine chuckled “No problem. Kurt will probably want to tell everyone tonight.”

“Don’t let him. Tonight you don’t share him with anyone okay? Tonight he is yours. Promise?”

“Yeah I promise. Thanks again Rachael.”

“Bye Blaine. Call me tomorrow.”

“I will. Or Kurt will. Probably Kurt.” He said chuckling.

Rachael hung up the phone and sat back down with Kurt. “I can only tell you he isn’t going to break up with you. But that I can promise you with undeniable surety.”

Kurt was practically falling out of his chair “What’s he going to do?!”

“I can’t tell you that. He wants it to be a total secret. He’ll probably call you soon though” She said completely refusing to let anything slip. “I’ve got to go Kurt. Call me tomorrow okay?” She hugged him and left.

Candles Chapter 1

“Hey Blaine” Kurt said smiling, as he kissed his boyfriend’s cheek. “How are you?”

Blaine looked at him with worn-out eyes. “Fine I guess… Just a little tired…”

“What’s up? You always get good sleep. Is there something on your mind?” Kurt said, tenderly placing his hand on Blaine’s.

Blaine played with the ring box in his coat pocket. “It’s nothing really.”

Kurt looked at him lovingly. “Anything that’s bothering you is something.”

Blaine chuckled still playing with the box in his pocket. “Really Kurt I’m just trying to figure out the right time to do something, and of course the perfect time for my brain to think about it is at 11:00 at night.”

“Well go on then. Spill, what are you planning?” Kurt said with a chuckle.

“It’s a secret. But I can tell you this, it’s a secret for you.” He said. He stood up and kissed Kurt’s nose. “I love you.”

Kurt smiled trying to mask his fear. “I love you too. I’ll call you later ok?”

“Sounds good to me.” Blaine said as he walked out of the coffee shop with a love struck smile on his face.

Kurt got on his phone, dialed a number, put the phone to his ear and waited anxiously.

A tired, female voice answered. “Kurt… It’s like… 8am…. On a Saturday….. Why are you calling me?”

“I think Blaine is planning on breaking up with me…….” Kurt said frantic and worried “I need advice Rachael… The type of advice I can only get from you.”

“First of all Kurt, Blaine loves you more than anything in the world, so he isn’t going to break up with you. Second of all why would you think that?” Rachael said pouring herself a cup of coffee, trying to be supportive of her step-brother-in-law.

Kurt sighed. “He told me that he’s trying to figure out when to do something…. And then he wouldn’t tell what….. But he said it was a surprise for me…”

Rachael laughed “maybe you are looking at it in the wrong way… the opposite way.”

Kurt thought for a second on what she meant. “You mean… propose?”

“Maybe. I don’t know what he’s planning. Or it could be something simple like a date.” Rachael said calmingly.

“I really hope your right Rachael… I just don’t know what I’d do if I lost him…”

“You won’t honey. Believe me ok? He loves you and you love him.” She said with care. “I’ll see you later. Lunch at one as usual?”

Kurt smiled “Yeah I’ll see you then.”

Intro to "Candles"

So I am currently writing my first Klaine fanfic and I am super excited about it! It will be called “Candles” because of … well I guess it’s devine inspiration. I hope it is good and I really hope everyone likes it. :)
